My attempts at astro imaging

NGC1514

Here we have a small planetary nebula in the constellation of Taurus (The Bull). This was taken with my modded 350d and an 8″ SCT Running at F10. It is the smallest object I have imaged and I had to use the SCT at it’s native F10 focal length (2m) to get decent image scale.

There does not seem to be much information on the web regarding the nebula other than it was discovered by William Herschel in 1790 and the nebula is surrounding a double star.  Anyway, I rather like it – it seems almost ghostly like in appearance.
