The JellyFish Nebula – IC443


Took this  a couple of nights ago, it was blowing a gale so I am really surprised at the quality of the subs.  I had to do some star repair in the top right corner (still not perfect) due to the flattener not quite covering the whole of the CCD fov.

Details:20X 10min subsED80 with WO FF III QHY8

Guided through 8″ SCT with 3.3 reducer and DSI

The Jellyfish Nebula is a supernova remnant in the constellation of Gemini and is roughly 5000 light years from us.  The actual date of the supernova is not know to any great accuracy – estimated vary between 3000 and 30,000 years!
